An office drone in a sleepy Northwest coastal town, she goes about her days completely isolated from her coworkers, unable or unwilling to engage with their social rituals. A new hire, Dave, soon starts at the company. Funny and gregarious, he disrupts the established dynamic and befriends Fran. Suddenly, Fran glimpses something outside of her hardened shell. Lambert’s deadpan feature recalls the work of 1990s auteur Hal Hartley and the wonderful details in Fran’s world should stir you out of your ennui slumber.
