Telefilm Micro-budget Program- YFS Recommendation phase call for applications

Telefilm Canada Micro-Budget Production Program: Yukon Film Society Recommendation Phase Application Application deadline: on or before Friday, January 3, 2014 at 4:30PM at YFS offices. GENERAL INFORMATION So you’ve made a short or two and now you’ve got a feature film script or feature documentary in development that’s ready for camera. Telefilm Canada launched their new Micro-Budget Production Program in 2012. The program targets emerging filmmaking talent and will support them in the production and release of their first feature-length film, with an emphasis on digital platforms and their potential for wide distribution and audience involvement. As its name indicates, this program targets micro-budget productions, meaning those with budgets under $250,000. Its aim is to provide financial support for emerging filmmakers who wish to produce their first feature-length film. Under the program, Telefilm will support eight to ten projects this year, through a non-repayable financial contribution of up to $120,000 per project. This contribution must be used to produce, distribute and promote a feature-length film that will be available to the general public through one or more distribution platforms, with a primary focus on digital platforms. Projects that will ultimately be submitted to Telefilm for evaluation will be first identified and recommended by a diverse group of industry partners including Yukon Film Society (YFS). Call Andrew or Zoë at yfs: 867-393-3456 To be eligible to apply, you must be a Canadian resident and the applicant must be a student or a recent graduate of a production program, or a recent member (within last 2 years) of a media art cooperative including YFS. Applicants must be a YFS Production Member in good standing at the time of submission. Membership renewal or purchase is pro-rated at $30 for the duration of this year (March 31, 2014 expiry).
