In this cinematic love letter to the French Alps and ancient pastoralist animal husbandry, a young Montreal advertising executive quits his city life to become a Provençal shepherd.

But the harsh realities of the pastoral world force him to question his romantic vision of the profession. A visit from Elise, a civil servant who has abruptly quit her job, gives Mathyas’ quest a new direction. Together, with a herd in their care, they embark on a journey towards a new way of life in the mountains.

Francais: Mathyas troque sa vie montréalaise de jeune publicitaire pour devenir berger en Provence. La dure réalité du monde pastoral le force toutefois à remettre en question sa vision romantique du métier. La visite d’Élise, une fonctionnaire ayant cavalièrement quitté son boulot, donne une nouvelle direction à la quête de Mathyas. Ensemble, ils amorcent une transhumance avec un troupeau de moutons à leur charge. Traversés par les rencontres et les épreuves de la montagne, ils vont se façonner une vie nouvelle.
