ALFF 2020 Video Art submissions now open!

ALFF 2020 Video Art submissions are now open!

Deadline for Submissions: November 30 at 11:59PM PST

Video and media art submissions for Available Light Film Festival 2020 are now open. Taking place Jan 31 to Feb 9, the 18th annual Available Light Film Festival (ALFF) will feature 50+ screenings of contemporary International and Canadian cinema in Whitehorse, Yukon. ALFF programming includes a special focus on cinema and screen content from Northern Canada and Indigenous filmmakers from around the globe.

We are seeking video and new media art for two display areas inspired by or created by artists in the Yukon, Northwest Territories or Nunavut.

Videos will be shown in a public space and should be suitable for visitors of all ages. If not, the video must contain warnings.

POP-UP VIDEO ART GALLERY
January 31 - February 9, 2020

The Pop-Up Video Gallery features a single channel viewing station with one television monitor that will run three short films on a loop throughout the duration of the festival.

 For this call, works must be single channel video art. 

 Work must not exceed 10min.

COMMUNITY GALLERY
January 31 - February 28, 2020

The Community Gallery is an exhibition space located in the Yukon Arts Centre lobby that will feature an installation during the entire month of February. 

Work for this exhibition space can be conceptual, non-narrative, or installation-based, so long as it utilizes a film or video element.
 

SUBMISSIONS

Required documents for either submission call must include the following: 

 

All submissions will be reviewed and selected by the Yukon Film Society team. Selected submissions will receive an artist fee.
