ALFF 2022 Pitch Event
Submit your short film project idea to the ALFF Pitch Event
Extended DEADLINE: Friday, February 4 at 5:00pm MST/ YST
The Yukon Film Society is pleased to announce the seventh annual ALFF Pitch Event. The event will be broadcast virtually on Wednesday February 16 from Whitehorse. Six teams will have 5 minutes each to pitch their ideas for short, one-off documentaries and fiction productions. The winning team will receive $7500 cash and in-kind production services and equipment towards the production of their film. The ALFF Pitch Event is part of the Available Light Film Festival and is supported by Northwestel Community Television and Yukon Film Society.
Send a one-sheet description of the project you’d like to pitch! You MUST include genre, length of project, synopsis and short bios of key creatives (Producer, Writer, Director). At least one key creative must be a Yukon resident. Video clips are encouraged but not mandatory (reference to past work or sizzle reel for project).

ABOUT THE ALFF PITCH PRIZE
The jury selected winner of the ALFF Pitch Event will receive $7,500 cash and $5000 in-kind production services and equipment towards the production of the film. The ALFF Pitch Prize is sponsored by Northwestel Community Television, Screen Production Yukon Association, Whispering Willows Records and the Yukon Film Society.
GUIDELINES
Projects can be up to 15 minutes in length.
We are looking for projects with a cohesive, strong vision regardless of genre. Experimental film concepts are eligible but must be a 2d single channel work that can be broadcast on Northwestel Community TV and video-on-demand platforms.
Projects can be a pilot episode of a web series but must stand on its own as a one-off film.
Projects selected to pitch will be evaluated for creative content, career and artistic growth and likelihood of the film finding its audience.
The producer and copyright owner must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Landed Immigrant, over the age of 18, to be eligible to receive a pitch prize. At minimum, one member of the key creative team (writer, director, producer) must be a Yukon resident. Winning films must be delivered by September 1, 2023.
