ALFF 2027 Contract Opportunity: Marketing and Communications Manager

Available Light Film Festival (ALFF) | Whitehorse, Yukon | Seasonal contract

ALFF 2027 is looking for a creative, detail-oriented Marketing & Communications Manager to lead day-to-day promotion of the festival, February 11–21. You’ll run our newsletters, social media, press and partner promotion, and keep our message consistent everywhere audiences find us.

The role
- Build and carry out the marketing and communications plan with the Festival Director and Festival Operations Manager
- Write and send newsletters in Mailchimp, and plan and post across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X/Bluesky, LinkedIn and YouTube
- Write press releases, pitch media, and handle press accreditation and interviews
- Write and proof film blurbs, the program guide, web copy and print materials
- Deliver sponsor and partner promotion, and reach out to community groups and new audiences
- Work on site for the full festival: live coverage, content capture, red carpets and Q&As
- Track results and write the post-festival marketing report

You bring
- 2–4 years in marketing, communications, PR, social media or event coordination
- Strong writing and proofreading, with samples to show
- Hands-on experience with social accounts, email campaigns and a CMS
- Organization under deadline pressure, and comfort working with press, partners and the public
- Availability for evenings and weekends near and during the festival
- Festival or arts experience, design or video skills, press contacts and French are assets.

Details
- Term: 4 months, ending 2 weeks after the festival
- Hours: 300 (estimated); part-time to start, full-time during the festival
- Pay: $9,000 total
- Location: Hybrid in Whitehorse; on site for key events and every festival day
