This fund is to support the career and project development of underserved filmmakers in the Yukon. Support can include costs to develop materials for the program, registration costs, travel costs or to pay a mentor. Eligible training activities include established programs such DOC BreakThrough Program, NSI Indigidocs, Hot Docs Doc Accelerator Lab, Whistler FF Talent Programs or attendance at a film or media industry conference such as the Hot Docs Industry Conference. Activities must take place before August 30, 2021.
Eligibility is open to all filmmakers or artist YFS members who self-identify as Black, Indigenous, people of colour, LGBTQ2S+ or underserved Canadian filmmakers.
A committee of peers at YFS will select the grantees. Fund requests can range from $250 to $750. Awarded amounts may vary depending on subscription to the program.
