Opportunity: Programming Committee ALFF 2021

September 9, 2020

ALFF 2021 is looking for film-lovers to join the ALFF Programming Committee!

The Yukon Film Society is accepting applications from the community for the Available Light Film Festival Programming Committee 2021. The Available Light Film Festival is Canada's largest film festival north of 60°, celebrating northern, Canadian and international cinema.

The committee will meet from September 2020 – November 2020, with some additional discussion via email. Applications are encouraged from diverse communities as well as people living in Yukon communities outside of Whitehorse, though access to stable internet is an asset as much pre-screening is done via streaming, and meetings may need to take place digitally, dependant on COVID-Related safety precautions. The committee will assist in programming the main film selection of ALFF 2021 in collaboration with ALFF staff.

Remuneration

This position will be paid $250 honorarium and receive viewing perks during the 2021 edition of ALFF.

Application

Please e-mail your letter of interest to Andrew Connors at alff@yukonfilmsociety.com

In the letter of interest, please include a brief bio, and list 3 remarkable independent films you’ve seen in the recent past (shorts or features) and describe what makes them stand out. Ideally this will be no more than 1 page in length!

Please submit your application by Wednesday, September 16th, 2020 at 4:00 PM PDT. Committee meetings would begin as early as Sept 26th.

Thank you!
