2024 Annual General Meeting & YFS Lifetime Member Nominations

Please join us for our 2024 AGM on Thursday, June 27 at the YFS office at 5:30PM. A reception and social will follow at 6:30PM. Please email RSVP to office@yukonfilmsociety.com if you plan to attend. We hope to see you there! Attending members will also recieve a complimentary ticket to the 8pm screening of the NFB documentary Wilfred Buck with visiting director Lisa Jackson in attendance to introduce the film.

The Yukon Film Society awards Life Memberships to Yukoners who have made extraordinary contributions to the Society's mandate over several years.

If you would like to nominate a member who is a filmmaker, media artist or cinéphile member who you feel deserves this recognition, please send a paragraph about why you are nominating this member via email: yfs@yukonfilmsociety.com  A membership committee of the YFS board of directors will make final selections.

Deadline for nominations: Friday, June 21st

 Selection criteria include:

· Number of years as a YFS member and category of membership

· Leadership in the Society

· Support (financial and/or volunteer service) for the Society

· Contributions to the production and/or exhibition of media art in the Yukon

· Promotion of Yukon media art on the national and international stage

Any YFS member may nominate a Life Member by submitting his/her name and accomplishments to the YFS board. The board will review and vote on nominations before each annual general meeting. The recipient must receive the unanimous support of the board. The recipient will be presented with the Life Membership at the AGM and will receive all the benefits of a Film-Lovers' Membership free of charge for as long as they remain a member of the Society. A maximum of two Life Memberships may be awarded annually.
