Set in the shadowy alleyways of Paris, this beautifully hand-drawn caper ␣lm about a cat who leads a secret double life was nominated for an Academy Award. By day a feline lives with a little girl whose mother is a detective in the Parisian police force. By night he sneaks out her window to team up with a cat burglar with a big heart, whose fluid movements are poetry in motion as he evades captors, slipping and swishing from rooftop to rooftop across the skyline. Rife with ␣lm references A Cat in Paris is a warm and richly humorous love letter to classic noir and American gangster films, complimented by a jazz soundtrack featuring Billie Holiday and the voices of Marcia Gay Harden (Mystic River), Anjelica Huston (The Royal Tenenbaums) and Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket).
Parental guidance is suggested for this film as it contains mild action and violence, and some mature material.
