Hedgehog's Home, Eva Cvijanovic, 2017, HRV/CAN, 10 min This stop motion animation tells the tale of a hedgehog living in a lush and lively forest. He is respected and envied by the other animals. However, Hedgehog’s devotion to his home annoys a quartet of insatiable beasts. It's Just Better, Beverly Shaffer, 1982, 15 min This short documentary takes us to a farmhouse on Cape Breton Island where Shawn Peter Dwyer, age 10, lives with his mother and nine brothers and sisters. While the children’s pockets are usually empty, their lives are well filled. How People Got Fire, Daniel Janke, 2008, YT, 16 min This introspective animation takes place in the village of Carcross, on the territory of the Carcross Tagish First Nation. Neighborhood pillar Grandma Kay tells the local children the tale of how Crow brought fire to people. As the story unfolds, we also meet 12-year-old Tish, an introspective, talented girl who feels drawn to the elder.
