Grey Mountain Naomi Mark, Marty O'Brien, 2019, YT, 16 min Grey Mountain follows the story of Beau, a 14-year old girl living in an isolated Yukon community and dealing with the recent loss of her mother. A shocking discovery at the cemetery throws Beau’s world into chaos and sets her on a journey to get to Pioneer Creek, a remote community 100km away. Starring Assia Malapanis, Peter Jickling, Carey Mitchell, Ian Bruce Jobin. Winner of the 2018 ALFF Pitch Prize for short fiction. Rise N' Shine Dir. Silver Kim + Ashley Evans, 2019, BC/YT, 21 min This beautifully shot comedy by Vancouver actors and filmmakers Silver Kim and Teslin-raised Ashley Evans was produced by Teslin’s Tip Evans. Two down at heel dreamers can’t seem to get ahead and their relationship is simultaneously volatile and magnetic. Jim is a chronic gambler and small-time criminal. Amanda is an alcoholic whose life ambition is to open a bakery just like the one her mom ran when she was a child. Just when it seems like Amanda has thrown Jim out for good, Jim and a pal steal a trophy moose-head from the local diner and take Amanda hostage… Screening preceded with a music set by Yukon-based musician Joey O’Neil (Presented with support from Music Yukon)
