Join prolific and eloquent Montreal-based filmmaker, Denis Côté, in a discussion of his career so far as a filmmaker who strives to push the boundaries of cinema, who often combines fiction and documentary elements in the same film. Denis will show scenes from his 10 features and dozens of shorts.

About Denis Côté,
Born in New Brunswick in Canada in 1973, Denis Côté studied film at Ahuntsic College in Montréal. He began his career producing and directing over a dozen low budget shorts whilst also working as a radio presenter and film critic for the Montréal weekly newspaper Ici. In 2005 he directed his first feature LES ÉTATS NORDIQUES, that won the Golden Leopard at Locarno. BESTIAIRE screened at the Berlinale Forum in 2012. In 2013, VIC+FLO SAW A BEAR won a Silver Bear in Berlinale. JOY OF MAN’S DESIRING was selected for Berlinale Forum in 2014. In 2015, his short MAY WE SLEEP SOUNDLY screened at Toronto IFF, followed by EXCURSIONS which was selected at Le rendez-vous du cinéma québécois. His film A SKIN SO SOFT premiered in Locarno Film Festival.
