Rocker Jakob Dylan anchors this revival of the popular music that came out of LA’s Laurel Canyon in the mid-60s as folk went electric and The Byrds, The Beach Boys, Buffalo Springfield and The Mamas and the Papas gave birth to the California Sound.  This entertaining doc features Dylan interviewing David Crosby, Roger McGuinn, Tom Petty, Michelle Phillips, Brian Wilson, Stephen Stills and Ringo Starr, recording selections of the California Sound in various LA studios, and hosting a concert performance with the likes of Beck, Regina Spektor and Cat Power.

“Musical documentary and concert film right up there with the all-time greats.” – FilmThreat

"'We were putting good poetry on the radio - pop radio.' That's David Crosby's take on the seminal California folk-rock scene of 1965 to '67, an era explained lovingly and with due reverence in the hashish-scented documentary Echo in the Canyon." Brad Wheeler, The Globe and Mail
