This special evening will cap off a Pacific Northwest tour in support of Samson’s new record Winter Wheat and also include songs from his excellent 2012 solo LP Provincial and a handful of gems from The Weakerthans catalogue. Folk punk rock from Winnipeg MB! “Cherished Canadian rock band the Weakerthans may be no more, but frontman and songwriter John K. Samson has since delivered two solo albums laced with an equally (if not more) satisfying, folk-leaning sound.”
- Sarah Murphy, exclaim.ca Opening guest, Rob Dickson is a songwriter based in Whitehorse, Yukon. His songs emerge from a place of discovery, of seeking solidity and forming identity. Through an autobiographical lens, Dickson reveals himself with a sound that is both raw and modest, inviting reflection, inviting us to consider the people we become as we grow up.
