The one and only ground-breaking documentary with a live score by Whitehorse's Hendrika!

In Vertov's legendary experimental 1929 Soviet silent documentary film, a man travels around a city (Moscow, Kiev and Odessa were the key locations) with a camera slung over his shoulder, documenting urban life with dazzling invention. Man with a Movie Camera is famous for the range of cinematic techniques that Vertov invented, employed, or helped to develop, such as multiple exposure, fast motion, slow motion, freeze frames, match cuts, jump cuts, split screens, Dutch angles, extreme close-ups, tracking shots, reversed footage, stop motion animations, and self-reflexive visuals.

Recommended ages 12+ for images of nudity and mature themes.

Hendrika is:  Selina Heyligers-Hare (guitar, synth, vox) , Daniel Witt (bass) , Tara Martin (drums) and Hannah Mazurek (foley and synth).

Hendrika is a multi-instrumentalist, touring and recording musician from the Yukon.

This event will include a set of Hendrika originals presented after a the film screening!
