Gabriel and Elias: two very different brothers. Gabriel is a worn down university professor and Elias is a man whose only concern is women and trivial knowledge. Things take a turn when the brothers learn through a videotape recorded by their now late father, that he in fact wasn't their biological father and that their biological father lives on the island Ork. Their journey in search of their bio-father takes them to the small, insular Danish island, where they stumble upon three additional half-brothers-each also sporting hereditary harelips and lunatic tendencies-living in a dilapidated mansion overrun by barn animals. Initially unwelcome by their newfound kin, the two visitors stubbornly wear them down until they're reluctantly invited to stay. This inventively bizarre and outlandish comedy is directed by acclaimed, Oscar-winning director Anders Thomas Jensen and stars Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale) and David Dencik (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.) "This seriously warped family portrait - an inspired thematic hybrid of Kafkaesque alienation and Farrelly brothers farce, with a healthy grafting of Tod Browning's "Freaks" - still has an organic sweetness at its core." - Los Angeles Times
