‘The Shipyards’ was a riverside community in Whitehorse that symbolized an older way of life. Shipyards Lament follows the forcible eviction of its residents. This neighbourhood was living history, the last of its kind in urban Canada, and it was bulldozed in the late 1990s to make way for urban visions of the waterfront.
