KIAC and YFS want you to make a film in 48 hours. No matter your level of experience or equipment, you can create whatever you're inspired to over one weekend. The competition begins at 5:30 pm on Friday, November 13, 2015. Participants will be given the Challenge Theme of the 48 Challenge, which until that time will remain unknown. The arrangement of production and post production equipment is the responsibility of the entrant. A 50% discount on YFS equipment is available for 48 Challenge productions. A technician will be available for assistance on Sunday to assist with technical issues during Production and Post Production. All completed entries will be screened on November 21st 2015 at the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre and simultaneously in Dawson City at the KIAC Ballroom. For Whitehorse and Dawson Registration please visit: http://dawsonfilmfest.com/48hour/index.html $30 Registration in Whitehorse (includes 3 tickets to the screening) $15 Registration Fee in Dawson City(per film) 50% discount on YFS/KIAC Equipment for 48 Challenge productions If booking YFS Equipment from Dawson please book in advance to allow for shipping time - Filmmakers may work individually or in teams - There is no age restriction to enter the competition - The films may be of any genre (drama, documentary, comedy, experimental, animation) - A Challenge Theme will be given out when the challenge commences at 5.30pm on Friday, November 14 - The Challenge Theme (for example: RUST) can be interpreted and incorporated in different ways: visually, through dialogue etc. - No previously shot footage may be used (up to 20 % archival material may be used) - Maximum length, 5 minutes. (There is no minimum length) - No pornographic or inappropriate material will be accepted All films must acknowledge the Yukon Film Society (YFS), and the Klondike Institute of Art and Culture (KIAC) in their credits. YFS logo • KIAC logo A winning entry will be decided upon by a jury. The winning entry will be screened at the 17th Dawson City International Short Film Festival and the 2016 Available Light Film Festival. Two Audience Awards will also be presented, voted on by the Whitehorse and Dawson audiences.
