Position: Business Administrator
Location: Whitehorse, Yukon
Hours: 30–40 hours per week (flexible schedule)

About Us
The Yukon Film Society (YFS) is a 41 year old dynamic non-profit arts organization dedicated to supporting media art in the Yukon through exhibitions, screenings, education, and artist support. YFS fosters a thriving community for filmmakers, cinephiles, and culture lovers across the North.
Position Summary
The Business Administrator ensures smooth internal operations and provides critical support to the Executive Director and program staff. This role blends financial management, organizational planning, and administrative oversight, keeping YFS running like a well-edited film.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Administer day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes using QuickBooks
- Support grant and funding applications by preparing budgets and financial documentation
- Monitor cash flow and create financial reports for board meetings and funders
- Coordinate payroll, benefits, annual and regular filings
Administrative Leadership
- Manage office facilities, scheduling assistance for Executive Director, and internal communications
- Maintain filing systems (digital and physical), database records, and membership details
- Assist with preparing board reports and AGM logistics
- Liaise with vendors, society members, funders, and partner organizations
Organizational Support
- Oversee insurance, regulatory filings, facility leases and compliance documentation in support of Executive Director
- Support seasonal staff hiring, Board member succession and onboarding
- Contribute to strategic planning and capacity-building initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant post-secondary education or professional certification in administration, finance, or non-profit management
- Minimum 2 years of experience in business administration (non-profit experience is an asset)
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Familiarity with grant-writing and arts sector funding
