Have you ever had a dream that you were so sure was real? What if you couldn't awaken? How would you know the difference between dream and reality? When a beautiful stranger (Carrie Ann Moss) leads computer hacker Neo (Keanu Reeves) to a forbidding underworld, he discovers the shocking truth--the life he knows is the elaborate deception of an evil cyber-intelligence. Neo joins legendary and dangerous rebel warrior Morpheus (Lawrence Fishburne) in the battle to destroy the illusion enslaving humanity.

Recommended ages 15+ for violence and coarse language.

This screening of The Matrix will be preceded by a reading of Whitehorse-based artist Hakim Regine's new stage play, A STORY WE ALL KNOW, followed by a screening of the classic work of Trans cinema, The Matrix. Join us for one feature or for both!

The reading is by donation and begins at 6pm. Tickets HERE.

A STORY WE ALL KNOW by Hakim Regine

What happens when a clown who has never seen a classic film sets out to write it?

  • Rule 1: Everything you know about the story must make it into your story.
  • Rule 2: You cannot seek out any new information as you write.

Part Year 2000 period piece, part delusional fanfiction, part homage to transgender cultural icons and Trans creativity, A STORY WE ALL KNOW is a multimedia stage play exploring what happens in the liminal space between one clown's imagination and a largely unknown (to them) cultural phenomenon. Expect a lot of leather.

Read by a cast of entirely Trans cast of local artists, this world premiere is not to miss!
